Hi, folks.
Life has thrown one too many curve balls at yours truly, but I'll try to get back on track with the blogging thing. The shortened version can be summed up like this; Jay loses job, A.G. goes through a culinary apprenticeship to make herself more marketable, both Jay and A.G. get jobs, A.G.'s job ends at the end of the holiday season, A.G. goes on stages/interviews/b.s job leads where she gets rejected for lack of experience/culinary school/testicles/whatever, so now she has the abilities of an Illustrator and Prep Cook, but nobody wants to hire her. How the hell did I wind up in culinary? Don't know, but it's the same shit as the visual arts industry, except nobody cares if a cockroach drowns in your watercolors. Just trying to survive.
The pic above is pretty much what I felt like after my latest stage, pretty crappy. A stage is like an internship, except instead of telling you "You suck!" every hour, they tell you"You suck!" every five minutes.:/ You work anywhere from a couple of hours to a 12-14 shift, usually with no pay, and they run you ragged. If they like you, they'll either ask you to do it all again or they'll actually hire you and pay you that ten spot an hour for your troubles. I've been on four of 'em and none of them went anywhere. Gonna have to get a job doing something, I'd much rather work on drawing; it's not that I can't do the kitchen schtick, but I'm fed up with the bullshit and I don't need to have it coming at me from two industries. /Rant
I hope you all are doing well, I have a lot of new art to share. Laterz.
